Our Tours-
Complimentary Guided Coffee Tour – Available from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM, every 30 minutes. An educational tour where you can learn how we get from seed to cup here at Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation. No reservations required for families under 10 people. For families over 10 people please email admin@mountainthunder.com.

Self-Guided Lava Tube & Nature Walk -- Available from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Fee based ($10 per family group) where you get to see native vegetation, coffee plantation, observation deck and lava tubes. No reservations required for families under 10 people. For families over 10 people please email admin@mountainthunder.com.

This could be the highlight of your trip to Kona. After taking our 30-minute orientation tour, and learning about Kona coffee growing, harvesting, milling, and grading you will spend approximately 90 minutes with Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation’s master roaster. This is an intimate group (limit six people) or one-on-one experience.

Learn about and participate in the selection of the green coffee you will be roasting.
Understand roasting theory as well as the basic operation of the roasting equipment.
Taste our various Kona coffee roasts, select which roast you prefer.
Work side-by-side with our Roast Master to roast the green coffee you selected
Manage and create your own personal roast
Package your roasted coffee in 8 oz. or 16 oz. packages to take with you, or we can ship to your home (at additional cost).
With every cup of Mountain Thunder 100% Kona coffee you brew at home, you can re-live your custom roasting experience!

Availability: Roast Master Experiences are available Monday thru Friday.

Reservations are REQUIRED: Use the calendar below to select your date and book online! Please reserve at least 24 hours ahead.

Duration: Total time approximately two hours

Fee: One flat group price for up to six people of $325 which includes the approximately four pounds of coffee you roasted. (You decide how the group divides up the coffee).
