Kona Coffee is Mountain Thunder's Specialty.

AS SEEN ON TV

Whoever would have thunk it?

Kona coffee hanging out with the likes of pigeon poo, ostrich poo, pig poo,
bat guano, and...so forth? Discovery Channel?s Mike Rowe of the underground
hit Dirty Jobs thought coffee plantation work fi t right in, and spent a whole
day on the Big Island at Trent Bateman?s Mountain Thunder plantation high in
the coffee belt.

Of course, the work day started with poo (donkey variety, organic, too!) that
Mike with Trent and family members shoveled up to fertilize under the coffee
trees. (Poo portion available for viewing at the ?Dirty Jobs? pages of Discovery
Channel?s website.) The rest of the day, Mike picked his own beans and followed
beans through the ?dirty jobs? of soaking, washing, drying, sorting, roasting,
and grinding process, until he fi nally had a CLEAN delicious cup of Kona joe
to enjoy at the end of the day. The segment originally ran last October, but
is often shown on reruns, or you can buy the DVD of the program...it?s the one
with the ostrich on the cover.

See online at www.discoverychannel.com.

Mountain Thunder was also featured on the Food Network?s Unwrapped episode,
?Aloha Edibles,? hosted by Mark Summers ? a much more technical-oriented approach
than the Dirty Jobs Spot. Bateman then appeared with Joe Mackee on a PBS show
called Big Eye on Hawaii. To add to their media coups, Mountain Thunder recently
scaled the seas to the orient, where they have been featured on TBS, the Japanese
Public Broadcasting system.
